As this was our first visit to the Gambia, it was very helpful to have someone to meet us and transfer us to the hotel. Locating and negotiating fares with a taxi driver may have been a bit tricky! Also, by the time we got through customs there was hardly anyone else around to provide assistance!

The cost of the transfer was very high compared with local taxi fares - and we were expecting a high quality, air conditioned car, but instead we were transported (as the only passengers) in a fairly old bus
